The borrelia bacteria that can give us Lyme disease is a special bacteria that is called a spirochete. There are a lot of different spirochete bacteria that can cause disease among humans. Spirochetes are some of the oldest bacteria's that humans has found here on earth and they are incredible intelligent and have learned how to survive in our environment. These spirochete bacterias looks like a curly worm and that is also its way to move into our cells, it is basically drilling it selves forward through our cells.

There are eight larger groups of spirochetes,Borrelia, Branchyspira, Brevinema, Cristispira, Leptonema, Leptospira, Spirochaeta, Treponema and inside these groups researchers have found more than 200 different borrelia bacterias and it might be a few hundred or even thousand more to explore in the future.

One new type of spirochete that researchers have found is Spironema Culicis and has been isolated in mosquito's. If this spirochete can infect humans from mosquito's are not known yet. Professor Klinghart in Germany believe that around 10-15% of all mosquito's in eastern Germany can be infected with borrelia spirochetes. The largest number of spirochetes are not dangerous and are living in harmony with humans and will not cause us any diseases. The specific group of spirochetes that will give us Lyme disease are coming from the Borrelia group. Some researchers believes that it might be spirochete bacterias that are behind a great number of diseases that we have not found any treatment for so far.

Borrelia is called the great imitator because a Lyme infection can cause a lot of ailments that are equivalent to other known diseases such as

ALS, MS, Parkinson, Fibromyalgia, reumathoid arthritis, ADHD and Alzheimers disease. These examples are disease that researchers are discussing if it might be borrelia spirochetes that can be the cause of them. There are also research papers that is showing us that there might be a statistical evidence between Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS) and borrelia burgdorferi. association mellan ALS och immunreaktion till Borrelia Burgdoferi.

Lyme disease researchers are today divided into two groups. One group believes that Lyme disease is an infection that can be treated easily with 10-20 days of antibiotic. In the other group we can find doctors that has got Lyme disease themselves and did not got well by the standard treatment. These doctors has found an organization called ILADS and they are working together to set up rules how to treat Lyme Disease. Some of ILADS doctors has treated MS, Fibromyalgia, Parkinson and ALS patients so that they have got their health back into their lives.

Lyme Disease researchers know that there are a lot of people that get the typical symptoms of Lyme Disease but there are a lot of people that never get any symptoms and do not know that they have got the borrelia in their bodies.  

The official story is that you get Lyme disease from a tick and then you get the classical red rash around the bite. When you see the red rash you go directly to the doctor and get antibiotic treatment and then you are healthy again. The problem is that around 50% of all people that get Lyme disease do not get the classical red rash and some researcher believes that it might be up to 2/3 of all people that has been infected that will never get any indication that they have got Lyme disease.

All these people are moving around in our society with a disease that they do not know that they have and they might find it out several years later when they get some mysterious disease that can look like any other disease for example fibromyalgia, ALS, MS or another dangerous disease.

Around 40% of all Lyme disease patients that has been treated with 10-20 days of antibiotic treatment will get some sort of relapse when the bacteria has not been killed properly.

In USA doctors has decided that people that know that they have got Lyme disease can not give blood. After a person has got antibiotic treatment for Lyme disease they need to wait for one year to see that they do not have any symptoms from Lyme Disease before they can give blood to the hospitals again. This shows that doctors are really scared for this disease and I have also red articles that mothers has got a baby and the baby has got Lyme from her mother.

But can borrelia spirochetes really be transferred via body fluids? No research what I have found so far has proved that these spirochetes can do that but the future will hopefully tell us how it is.
 
Even that Lyme disease can be a dangerous disease we shall be very lucky that there are treatment routines for this disease both with ”normal” medicine but also with medicines from the nature. This is great because according to some doctors connected to ILAD the Lyme disease treatment need to go on for a long time until the symptoms are gone and the treatment need to be special for every patient. The problem with the borrelia spirochete is the same as with HIV virus. You get infected by HIV virus but you do not know if or when you will get AIDS. You get infected by a borrelia spirochete and you do not know if or when you will get Lyme disease or if the disease will be mild or even deadly in your case.

According to the book Healing Lyme written by Stephen Buhner all Lyme disease treatment today are an experiment because one way of antibiotic treatment does not kill this bacterias all life forms. The greatest vector for Lyme disease are ticks.
